Abstract
This article focuses on the prevalence of sexual pain and dysfunction among cisgender Muslim women aged 18-45 in North America and the barriers they face in seeking healthcare. A national cross-sectional survey of 704 Muslims, primarily cisgender women, found that 42% reported a history of sexual pain and dysfunction, with 65% of those never having sought medical help. The study highlights cultural, religious stigmas, and potential healthcare provider limitations as significant barriers to treatment. This research represents the first national investigation into sexual pain specifically within this population and underscores the need for increased awareness and culturally competent care to address these issues.
