Abstract
Cobb and China: Intuitive Postmodern Ecological Civilizational Thought (《柯布与中国--直观柯布后现代生态文明思想》), a book whose very cover is made from "fruit paper" and thus carries an "ecological gene" of its own, naturally brings back memories of five years ago, when I was a visiting scholar at Claremont in the United States. Introduced by scholars Fan Meijun (樊美筠) and Wang Zhihe (王治河), I had the privilege of meeting the world-renowned postmodern philosopher John B. Cobb Jr. several times, listening in person to his philosophical insights--an eye-opening and deeply rewarding experience. Reading this new volume, the result of five years of collaboration among Fan Meijun, Liu Lu, and Gao Kaige, allows me once again to revisit Academician Cobb's ecological wisdom, from which I draw renewed inspiration and reflection.
