Abstract

The article focuses on a study evaluating the effects of a structured yoga program on pulmonary function and psychological well-being in individuals exposed to air pollution in Delhi-NCR, India. Conducted by researchers from Amity University, the 12-week randomized controlled trial involved 86 adults who practiced a daily regimen of Hatha Yoga, including asanas, pranayama, and guided meditation. Results indicated significant improvements in pulmonary function, psychological health, and quality of life for the yoga group, while the control group experienced declines in these areas. The findings suggest that integrating yoga into public health strategies may help mitigate the adverse health effects of air pollution in urban populations. [Extracted from the article]
