Abstract
The article presents the June 2025 issue of Afterimage, which explores themes of historical legacies and extractivist practices in the Anthropocene. It features a visual essay by Bruno de Oliveira da Silva on the Jesuit Guaraní missions in Brazil, emphasizing cultural heritage and memory. Additionally, Carlos Garrido Castellano discusses the implications of creative capitalism on social structures, while Adam Alston analyzes the work of artist Angel Rose Denman, linking it to European decadent style. Joshua Wodak examines Australian interactive art's role in fostering environmental responsibility, and the reviews section highlights exhibitions by Tina Girouard and Karice Mitchell, as well as a critique of Siobhan Angus's book on photography's political potential.
