Abstract
The article discusses the history of England's Jewish community during Edward I's reign, highlighting the financial exploitation and restrictions they faced. Edward's policies, including heavy taxation and expulsion orders, significantly impacted the Jewish population. The Statute of the Jewry in 1275 imposed further restrictions on Jewish moneylenders, leading to a shift towards commodity dealing. Ultimately, in 1290, Edward issued orders for the expulsion of all Jews from England, marking the end of a long period of persecution and discrimination. [Extracted from the article]
