Abstract
A recent study conducted in Marseille, France explored the effectiveness of coloring complex circular shapes, known as mandalas, in reducing anxiety associated with chronic illness. The study included thirty patients from three different medical settings: hemodialysis, psychiatric day hospital, and general consultation. The results showed that coloring the mandalas significantly reduced anxiety in the hemodialysis and psychiatric groups, but not in the general consultation group. The study suggests that art activities, such as coloring, can have positive effects on anxiety in healthcare settings and should be further developed in medical disciplines.
