Abstract

The article focuses on a research report from Niteroi, Brazil, examining the contributions of classical sociologists Max Weber and Émile Durkheim to qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. The study highlights Weber's work in "The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism" and Durkheim's "Suicide: A Sociological Study," emphasizing their lasting influence on contemporary sociological analysis. Funded by the Fundacao Carlos Chagas Filho de Amparo a Pesquisa do Estado do Rio De Janeiro (FAPERJ), the research aims to illustrate how these authors' methodological constructs inform sociological interpretations of social phenomena.
