Abstract
M. K. Gandhi's views on religious unity are presented in the paper. He uses the tree metaphor to explain that all religions have one root. They all show different paths to one God, leading to salvation. At the same time, each religion is imperfect. Gandhi represents the ideal conceptual religion as the tree trunk and real religious systems as its branches. He compares individual religious ideas with tree leaves because each person has a unique vision of God. Such an approach to religious diversity may help us respect other cultures and offer another way of thinking and understanding the world. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
