Abstract

The main focus of the article is a review of recent scholarly works related to Jewish history, philosophy, law, and culture. It highlights Tzvi Y. Langermann's *Before Maimonides*, which explores pre-Maimonidean Jewish philosophy through a newly discovered Hebrew dialogue between Soul and Intellect, tracing influences from medieval Jewish and Muslim thinkers. Nechama Goldman Barash's *Uncovered* examines women's roles, mitzvot, and sexuality in Jewish law, presenting traditional texts with historical and textual analysis aimed at female readers. Avinoam Yuval-Naeh's *An Economy of Strangers* investigates the debates surrounding the readmission of Jews to England (1650–1830), focusing on economic, religious, and political arguments that culminated in their 1656 return. Additionally, Ann Brener's *Books Like Sapphires* showcases treasures from the Library of Congress Judaica Collection, emphasizing medieval poetry and translation. These works are recommended for academic, synagogue, and research libraries interested in Jewish studies.
