Abstract
The article examines the Tanakh (Hebrew Bible) and the Quran as foundational sacred texts of Judaism and Islam, highlighting their shared monotheistic beliefs, prophetic traditions, and ethical teachings alongside their theological and cultural differences. It discusses how both texts emphasize justice, compassion, and moral conduct, while also addressing the complex historical and theological relationships between Jews and Muslims, including mutual recognition and points of contention. The Quran acknowledges the Torah as a divine revelation but asserts that its message was altered, positioning Islam as a continuation and correction of earlier scriptures. The article suggests that focusing on commonalities can promote interfaith understanding and peace, while cautioning that rigid literalism without spiritual insight can lead to conflict.
