Abstract
This article focuses on critically reimagining global citizenship education (GCE) in response to the dominance of neo-liberal doctrines in educational curricula. It presents GCE as a philosophical, ethical, and pedagogical framework aimed at fostering social justice, critical consciousness, and democratic agency beyond market-driven imperatives. The contributions explore diverse themes including women's leadership and reflexive dialogue, the integration of African concepts like ubuntu and decolonial perspectives, and the complexities of justice and power in globalized societies. Collectively, the articles advocate for a GCE that challenges prevailing neo-liberal and Western-centric paradigms by promoting pluralistic, context-sensitive, and ethically grounded approaches to education for the common good.
