Abstract

The article focuses on the life and career of Bruce Mason Collingwood and his connection to New Zealand's coachbuilding and motor-body manufacturing industry through his work at New Zealand Motor Bodies in Christchurch. Topics include his wartime service in the Royal New Zealand Air Force and post-war career at NZMB, his friendship with Maurice Stevens of the Stevens coachbuilding family, and the early development of the coachbuilding and motor-body industry in Canterbury.
