Abstract
This study examines the relationship between religious identity and life satisfaction among Afghan immigrants residing in Agri, Turkey, focusing on the mediating roles of perceived social support and perceived discrimination. Results from 182 participants indicate that a stronger religious identity is associated with higher perceived social support and lower perceived discrimination, both of which fully mediate the positive effect of religious identity on life satisfaction. The findings suggest that religious identity indirectly enhances life satisfaction by fostering social support and reducing experiences of discrimination. These insights highlight the importance of addressing social support and discrimination in efforts to improve well-being among migrants with strong religious identities, particularly in contexts where migrants share religious beliefs with the host society.
