Abstract
A Russian oil tanker, the Hera 1, experienced an engine failure while passing through Turkey's Dardanelles shipping strait, causing a temporary blockage of maritime traffic. The incident occurred near the entry point of the strait in northwest Turkey, resulting in a three-hour suspension of southbound traffic. The tanker, carrying approximately 730,000 barrels of Russian crude, was heading towards the Suez Canal with its ultimate destination being India. The vessel is considered a shadow fleet vessel, as its insurer and beneficial owner are not identified in the International Maritime Organization's database. [Extracted from the article]
