Abstract
The article focuses on the Battle of Ramillies in 1706 during the War of the Spanish Succession, highlighting the military leadership of John Churchill, Duke of Marlborough. Despite initial setbacks and personal danger on the battlefield, Marlborough executed a strategic plan involving feints on the flanks and a decisive massed attack on the French center, commanded by François de Neufville, Duke of Villeroi. The battle resulted in a significant Allied victory, with heavy losses for the French and a subsequent Allied advance capturing key cities. Marlborough’s tactics and leadership during this engagement reinforced his reputation and influenced military strategy in subsequent conflicts. [Extracted from the article]
