Abstract

This article systematically reviews scales developed to measure Islamic religiosity, spirituality, and morality, focusing on those grounded in primary Islamic sources—the Quran and hadith—and validated on Muslim populations. Using six major academic databases, the study identified 15 quality-assessed instruments primarily addressing religiosity, with fewer scales on spirituality and morality, many developed in Malaysia. The review highlights methodological strengths such as mixed qualitative-quantitative approaches and theoretical grounding in Islamic literature, while also noting common limitations including response biases and sampling errors. It underscores the need for further development and wider application of culturally sensitive, psychometrically sound scales to better capture diverse Islamic constructs and encourages future research to address gaps, particularly in measuring Islamic morality and its psychological correlates.
