Abstract

The article explores the early compositional style of Russian composer Alexander Scriabin, shaped by Romantic influences before evolving into a more dissonant and mystical language. Topics include his tonal-to-dissonant transition, philosophical inspirations like synesthesia and theosophy; and his celebrated Etudes as expressions of his pianistic and artistic depth.
