Abstract
The article suggests that the identity of the Presence Divine in part VIII.314—17 of John Milton's poem "Paradise Lost" is an allusion to Revelation 1:17, in which Milton relates his interaction with Jesus, the Son of God. It describes the interaction of Adam with the Presence Divine as he narrated his earliest memories after his creation to the archangel Raphael.
