Abstract

The article focuses on theologian Justin Shaun Coyle's examination of the limitations of "eucharistic ecclesiology" as a framework for Christian unity, arguing that its ecumenical potential remains largely theoretical. It suggests that the concept's failure to achieve true communion among churches stems from its neglect of the role of martyrdom and its tendency to reinforce existing ecclesial boundaries rather than challenge them.
