Abstract
The article focuses on three medical studies conducted at Ain Shams University related to obstetrics and gynecology. The first study evaluates outcomes of second-trimester induction of abortion in women with previously scarred uteri, finding a 15.5% failure rate of medical abortion and 1.5% uterine rupture, with factors such as increased gestational age and multiple prior cesarean sections linked to lower success. The second study assesses serum concentrations of apelin-13 and apelin-36 in women with primary unexplained recurrent pregnancy loss, reporting significantly higher levels in affected women and suggesting these peptides may play a role in the condition's pathophysiology. The third study, a systematic review, analyzes diagnostic accuracy of Pipelle and dilation and curettage for endometrial carcinoma, indicating Pipelle has moderate sensitivity and high specificity.
