Abstract
This article investigates whether self-claimed mediums obtain accurate information through direct interaction with the deceased or by accessing a universal memory of human experiences, using a triple-level blinding protocol to control for information leakage from sitters. Analyzing 100 readings from 28 female mediums, the study found that 12.6% of the 1,295 correct statements explicitly suggested interaction with the deceased, while the majority did not. These findings imply that mediums may retrieve some information via purported communication with the deceased rather than solely through non-specific memory sources. The research contributes to discussions on the survival hypothesis, suggesting the persistence of individual identity after death, and employs rigorous blinding methods to enhance experimental validity.
