Abstract

This article focuses on the use of black phosphorene (BP) as a substrate for surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) to detect DNA nucleotides with improved sensitivity and accuracy. Compared to other two-dimensional (2D) materials like graphene and molybdenum disulfide (MoS2), BP provides significantly stronger Raman signal enhancement, attributed to its anisotropic structure and enhanced charge transfer interactions with biomolecules. The study demonstrates that BP reduces background fluorescence and amplifies Raman signals of nucleotides such as adenine, guanine, thymine, and cytosine, enabling detection at lower concentrations. These findings position BP as a promising platform for advanced biosensing and molecular diagnostics applications.
