Abstract

The article focuses on recent evidence confirming active volcanic activity on Venus, Earth's nearest planetary neighbor. Scientists analyzing orbital radar images have observed a volcanic vent that changed size and shape over eight months, indicating ongoing surface activity. This finding supports previous indirect evidence such as fluctuating sulfur dioxide levels and infrared signatures of young lava flows, reinforcing the idea that Venus remains geologically active. The discovery is significant as it provides direct visual proof of volcanism on Venus, with further insights expected from upcoming missions planned for the early 2020s.
