Abstract

In this paper, a low dropout regulator with a resistance string control network and large load current drive capability is proposed. Under the condition of a 3.3 V standard supply voltage and 25 mA load current, the adjustment range of output voltage is 2.17–3.12 V, and the voltage adjustment accuracy is 7.5 mV. The operating voltage range of the proposed LDO is 2.75–3.6 V, which can provide 0–25 mA charging current for 10 uF–10 F supercapacitors. The LDO is designed and simulated in SMIC 55 nm standard CMOS process. The simulation results show that in the case of a 10 uF–10 F output capacitor, the designed LDO maintains high-precision output voltage and a strong ability to drive load current under different temperatures and process angle conditions.
