Abstract

A study conducted by researchers at Universidad de Los Andes in Bogota, Colombia, explores the decision-making process of drivers and passengers in open carpooling programs. The study aims to understand the factors that influence participation in carpool systems and found that the attitudes and factors influencing the decisions of drivers and passengers differ. Drivers' decisions are influenced by distances and age, while passengers' choices are shaped by gender and income levels. The results of the study can be used by policymakers and company managers to develop better mobility strategies. [Extracted from the article]
