Abstract

This article focuses on the cost comparison of erectile dysfunction medications purchased through retail pharmacies, Medicare, and discount online platforms. It examines prices from the Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company (CPD), an online retailer selling generics at cost plus a fixed margin, and GoodRx, a coupon-based discount tool, against Medicare Part D and retail pharmacy prices. The study found that CPD and GoodRx offer significantly lower average costs per dosage unit for sildenafil, tadalafil, and vardenafil, potentially saving the U.S. healthcare system approximately $149 million annually compared to Medicare pricing. These findings suggest that increased awareness and use of CPD and GoodRx could reduce national medication expenditures and patient cost burdens for erectile dysfunction treatments.
