Abstract

The article examines the features of the ruins that were submerged in the Bay of Naples in Italy and how the ancient town of Baiae was lost to volcanic eruptions and eventually became a famous resort destination. Also cited are how the supervolcano Campi Flegrei or Phlegraean Fields exploded forcefully to submerge the town, and the submerged remains like sumptuous villas and major maritime commercial hubs.
