Abstract

Heavy rainfalls in China have caused significant damage and loss of life in several cities. At least 12 people were killed in Hengyang, Hunan province, when a house collapsed due to a mountain landslide. In Linjiang city, Jilin province, a top-level emergency alert was issued in response to floods in sections of the Yalu River, leading to the suspension of work, schools, and transportation. These heavy rains have been ongoing since mid-July. [Extracted from the article]
