Abstract

According to a recent study, the average human body temperature is actually lower than the commonly accepted standard of 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit. The study found that the average temperature is closer to 97.9 degrees Fahrenheit. Experts have different opinions on why body temperatures have decreased over time and whether this affects the evaluation of fever and infection. Factors such as measurement methods, body part from which temperature is taken, time of day, and overall health may contribute to the variation in body temperature. Instead of relying solely on temperature, doctors should consider other signs and symptoms for accurate diagnosis. [Extracted from the article]
