Abstract
The authors comment on the role of social work in providing support for suicide prevention in stroke survivors. Cited are the roles of social workers in the treatment of poststroke depression (PSD), psychosocial issues that affect the risk of suicide in stroke survivors that can be handled adequately by the expertise and skills of social workers, and the importance of increasing the awareness of social workers about prevention of suicide in stroke survivors.
