Abstract

The article focuses on the evaluation of management strategies and outcomes of blunt liver trauma in pediatric and adult patients treated at Ain Shams University Hospitals between August 2022 and September 2023. The study found that conservative management, including adjuncts like angioembolization and image-guided drainage, was effective in both groups but more frequently required in adults. Pediatric patients generally had less severe injuries, higher success rates with nonoperative treatment, and better clinical outcomes, while adults more often needed operative interventions and blood transfusions due to higher-grade injuries. These findings emphasize the need for age- and severity-specific treatment approaches to optimize recovery in blunt liver trauma cases.
