Abstract
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is accepting applications for the Sportfishing and Boating Safety Act—Boating Infrastructure Grant (BIG) Tier 2. This grant provides funding for the construction, renovation, and maintenance of boating infrastructure facilities for recreational vessels at least 26 feet long. The deadline for applications is September 18, 2024, and a total of $14 million is available for up to 10 awards of up to $1.5 million each. Eligible applicants include state agencies in the U.S., Puerto Rico, the Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, American Samoa, the United States Virgin Islands, and the Mayor-designated agency in the District of Columbia. The grant can be used for various activities such as building boat slips, fuel stations, restrooms, and other amenities, as well as conducting studies and assessments related to boating infrastructure.
