Abstract
This article focuses on an in vitro comparison of fracture load between zirconia and a new fiber-reinforced composite (FRC) material called Trilor for All-on-4 implant-supported full-arch prosthetic frameworks. Using a cobalt-chromium model simulating the All-on-4 concept, 18 frameworks (9 zirconia, 9 FRC Trilor) with three different cross-sectional dimensions were tested under thermocycling and static load-to-failure conditions. Results showed that FRC Trilor frameworks exhibited significantly higher fracture loads than zirconia across all tested cross-sections and loading points, with fracture resistance increasing as cross-sectional size increased. The study concludes that FRC Trilor, particularly with a 7.5 × 6 mm² cross-section, may be a suitable alternative to zirconia for All-on-4 prosthetic frameworks, though further research is recommended to validate these findings.
