Abstract

The article discusses how Earth's heat gain has slowed down, despite record high temperatures in 2024. This decrease in heat gain has alleviated concerns that climate change was accelerating beyond projections. Factors such as reductions in air pollution and variations in climate patterns like La Niña and El Niño contribute to fluctuations in Earth's energy imbalance. Scientists use satellite data to measure the planet's energy imbalance, which has more than doubled since 2001. [Extracted from the article]
