Abstract

NASA's New Horizons spacecraft, known for its exploration of Pluto, may be on the verge of discovering new objects beyond the Kuiper belt that could redefine the boundaries of our solar system. In early 2024, the spacecraft detected an unexpected increase in dust, suggesting the presence of larger bodies beyond the Kuiper belt. Ground-based observations have also revealed a surprising number of distant objects beyond the suspected outer edge of the belt, potentially indicating the existence of a second Kuiper belt. Further research and confirmation are needed to determine the nature and extent of these discoveries. [Extracted from the article]
