Abstract
SpaceX experienced a rare failure with its Falcon 9 rocket during a recent launch, which is the first major mishap in the vehicle's history. The rocket was carrying 20 Starlink internet satellites, but they were deployed into the wrong orbit. The upper portion of the Falcon 9's engine failed to reignite in orbit, causing chunks of icy material to form and break away from the rocket. SpaceX is attempting to raise five of the satellites using the spacecraft's ion thruster engines before they burn up in the atmosphere. Despite this incident, SpaceX has had a near-perfect track record with successful launches in recent years. The company plans to launch up to 148 flights this year, including a mission with four private astronauts. [Extracted from the article]
