Abstract

The 2012 13-inch MacBook Pro, which was the last Apple laptop to have an optical drive, is no longer supported by the company. Apple has officially declared it as obsolete, meaning that all hardware service has ceased and parts cannot be ordered for it. This model remained in Apple's lineup until October 2016 and was replaced by an optical drive-free model. Apple still sells an external USB SuperDrive for those who need an optical drive.
