Abstract
This article introduces Part 2 of a special issue focused on tutorials for novel methods and analyses in social cognition research. It highlights seven papers that cover three main areas: formal modeling techniques, statistical analysis tools, and methodological innovations. Key contributions include tutorials on computational social utility models, response time-extended multinomial processing tree models, and the tug-of-war model for analyzing Implicit Association Test (IAT) data. Additionally, the issue presents tools for confirmatory factor analysis across multisite data, methods to determine stability in sample means, and innovative approaches such as using virtual reality headsets for studying unconscious cognition and narrative games to examine social cognitive processes. These tutorials aim to lower methodological barriers, enhance reproducibility, and offer practical guidance to advance research in social cognition.
