Abstract
The article focuses on a study conducted by researchers at Hunan First Normal University in Changsha, People's Republic of China, examining the relationship between daily mortality salience and academic engagement among college students. The research, grounded in Terror Management Theory (TMT) and the Compensatory Control Model (CCM), utilized a 10-day daily diary method with 102 Chinese undergraduates. Findings indicated that daily mortality salience positively influences academic engagement through mechanisms of death anxiety and personal control. The study suggests that educators can enhance student engagement by fostering a sense of meaning and personal control in the learning environment. [Extracted from the article]
