Abstract
The article focuses on the exploration of Sir John Soane's Museum as a case study to examine the interplay between personal character, architectural expression, and digital representation in house museums. It identifies three key spatial expressions within the museum: the structural reflection of Soane’s personality, the integration of public and private spheres, and a poetic spatial interaction influenced by Shakespearean narrative. The study highlights how the museum’s virtual exhibitions enhance accessibility, deepen understanding of spatial relationships, and offer interactive experiences that preserve and reinterpret Soane’s curatorial vision. It concludes that digital platforms can successfully convey the essence of house museums by blending physical and virtual realms, while also emphasizing the importance of interdisciplinary approaches in advancing museum studies and digital heritage.
