Abstract

The article focuses on former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani being awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the United States' highest civilian honor, announced by President Donald Trump while Giuliani is recovering from injuries sustained in a car crash in New Hampshire. Giuliani, 81, was assisting a domestic violence victim before his vehicle was struck from behind, resulting in a fractured vertebra and other injuries; he is reported to be alert and recovering well. The crash remains under investigation with no charges filed. Giuliani, known for his leadership after the September 11 attacks and later as Trump's personal attorney, was disbarred following his involvement in efforts to challenge the 2020 presidential election results.
