Abstract

The article explores the search for the RMS Titanic, a luxury passenger liner that sank on April 15, 1912, after hitting an iceberg, resulting in approximately 1,500 fatalities. Despite extensive efforts over 70 years, the wreck remained undiscovered due to challenging conditions in the North Atlantic, including extreme depths, strong currents, and technical difficulties. Oceanographer Robert Ballard successfully located the Titanic in 1985 using sonar and an underwater robot, revealing insights into the ship's final moments. While technology has clarified some aspects of the disaster, many mysteries may remain as the wreck's delicate state complicates potential recovery efforts. [Extracted from the article]
