Abstract
"A Companion to African Rhetoric" is a collection of essays by different scholars that challenges Western constructions of rhetoric and aims to redefine understandings of African rhetoric. The book explores the different mediums, genres, and approaches to African rhetoric, emphasizing the importance of attending to the practices inherent in African cultures. It argues that rhetoric is an effective tool of social formation in Africa and highlights the significance of religious rhetoric in African spirituality.
