Abstract

This article focuses on a study examining perceived discrimination among Indian immigrants in the United States through a relational framework that considers both their country of origin and new social contexts. Using survey data and interviews with Indian immigrants in Atlanta and Philadelphia, the research highlights that while participants report various discriminatory experiences, they often downplay these incidents. The study argues that understanding these perceptions in relation to discrimination faced abroad and by other U.S. minority groups is essential to interpreting these responses. The research was conducted by scholars at Indiana University and published in Social Psychology Quarterly.
