Abstract
The article focuses on a humorous circus anecdote shared by Ron Severini, former dean of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Clown College, involving an eighty-year-old female trapeze artist interviewed about her four marriages. Each husband had a distinct circus-related occupation—circus owner, tiger trainer, costume designer—and her fourth husband was a funeral director. The trapeze artist explained her marriages as practical choices aligned with different life stages: for money, for the show, to prepare, and finally to go. The story reflects the colorful and unique personal lives within the circus community.
