Abstract
In this article, I tried to explain this unique human state of nirvana in terms of neuro-psycho-biological processes and concepts. Some of the complex processes include spontaneous self-synchrony, multimodal homeostasis, causal relationships between major neural networks, Trisynaptic fluid space-time and their dynamic modulation. A new proposal of three modes of attention is described: 1) reticulo-limbic holistic mode, 2) right hemispheric global mode and 3) left hemispheric local mode. The experiential aspect of each mode is described. Finally, in nirvana, the self-perspective and its processing tends to proceed inwards, leading from the left hemispheric dualistic conscious activity with contents, to the right hemispheric implicit, preconscious awareness, and finally, to the effortless, spontaneous, holistic processing of the whole body-brain-mind in tune with the energy-information flow dynamics of nature. Nirvana is a balanced, homeostatic feeling, and an experience of no specific describable experience. It is our natural, effortless, live state in commune with nature. It is a sign of good health with natural peace and happiness. In such a state, the mental ego becomes transparent, as if, it is nonexistent or empty, and the mind becomes spontaneous, still, silent, serene, and seamlessly whole in tune with nature with a feeling of blissful unity and existential oneness. The 'I' can never be objectified and perceived as an object or an event. It is our ineffable existential being. One may say, "I am aware now, therefore I am." Then, one may understand the sky-like, holistic aware being, Poorna-Akasham Atma. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
