Abstract

This article examines the criminal victimization of policewomen by fellow police officers, using data from a nationwide study on police crime, defined as cases where officers have been arrested for criminal offenses. It focuses on incidents involving policewomen as victims of sexual harassment, official misconduct, stalking, indecent exposure, assault, and rape. The study aims to explore the nature of these crimes, highlight cases involving sexual violence, and compare victimization patterns between male and female police officers. Findings reveal distinct patterns of victimization for policewomen, especially regarding police sexual violence (PSV) and officer-involved domestic violence (OIDV).
