Abstract
A study conducted by Sapienza University of Rome examined the emotional reactions and stigmatization of mental health professionals and the general population in South Tyrol, Italy, following a parricide incident in January 2021. The study found that all groups experienced sadness the most, with relatives experiencing more sadness and anger than others. Over 80% of mental health professionals stated that psychiatric patients were not at a greater risk of committing parricide. The study concluded that personal contact, appropriate information, and education are associated with less stigmatization. [Extracted from the article]
