The article focuses on the construction of Maharashtra’s longest balanced cantilever (CLC) bridge in Nagpur by MahaMetro, which spans 271 meters across the Vena River. This bridge is part of the 6.7-km Reach-3A Hingna corridor under Metro Phase-2, aimed at improving connectivity while protecting the river's ecosystem. The project, estimated to cost Rs 378 crore and including seven stations, features a central span of 120 meters and is designed to minimize environmental disruption. Kalpataru Projects International (KPIL) is responsible for the construction, with design support from Ayesa and validation from VNIT Nagpur and an independent consultant, and the bridge is expected to be completed within 18 months.
