Abstract
A recent study conducted by Malardalen University in Sweden examined the health experiences of immigrant Thai women in transnational marriages. The study found that these women face discrimination and significant risks, including sexual exploitation, trafficking, and violence, which negatively impact their well-being. The research utilized in-depth interviews with 40 immigrant Thai women who were or had been married to Swedish spouses. The study identified five main areas of critical health incidents, including psychological, sociocultural, physiological, developmental, and spiritual health dilemmas. The findings highlight the need for healthcare and welfare support for women in marriage migration situations, as well as the importance of multicultural knowledge for organizations working with Thai women in foreign countries.
